Chander Arora, owner and head chef of Michael's Artisan Bakery, realized a lifelong dream 11 years ago. Seeing an opportunity to expand Michael's Artisan Bakery to be a part of the vibrant and growing community in South Surrey / White Rock, he purchased the business and set out to create the bakery café the way it is today. Originally, Michael's Artisan Bakery was a bakery featuring only breads, but in the past 11 years, it has grown to be a favourite lunch spot for many, and of course the destination for delicious sweet desserts and cakes.

Chander received his chef training in Germany. Shortly after moving to Canada, he settled with his family in BC, where he worked at many well-respected restaurants and hotels before finding the perfect place to create his own business. These days you can find him behind the counter making lunch, and making friends with new customers. Come by and say hello!
